Upcoming Scholarship Application Deadlines

SENIORS: Many scholarships have upcoming application deadlines- plan ahead! Be sure to check with the scholarship organization to determine your deadlines. Order your transcripts at least a week in advance and request letters of recommendation a month in advance. Remember, if you order paper transcripts you must pick them up and send them.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

FAFSA went live as of January 1, and seniors/parents need to submit it as soon as possible for consideration for many financial aid opportunities as well as many scholarships. Do you need help filling out the FAFSA? We can help! Come to the Post Grad Center for FAFSA support. Parents and guardians are welcome!

Remember: You must submit the FAFSA if you want to apply for federal and state financial aid for college. Many colleges and universities, especially public institutions, also require the FAFSA. Complete your FAFSA through www.fafsa.ed.gov/ (this is the official free application through the U.S. government).

ACT Colorado State Test

Remember, all juniors (who did not request to take the ACT with Writing) in the state of Colorado take the ACT on April 19. This test is free and students do not register online. These test results will be posted on a student’s transcript. Information about prep classes can be found on the Counseling Department’s website, in the Counseling Office, and online through Community Connections (A Student Resource Guide) at http://bvsd.org/guide/Pages/disclaimer.aspx.
