Updating Naviance with College Admission Decisions
|It is the time of year when many of you begin receiving admission decisions from your colleges. Please be sure to update your Naviance account to show all admission decisions.
The data collected from these decisions (accepted, denied, wait listed, or deferred) is used to assist us in best supporting future seniors. Think back to how helpful the Admission Decisions Graphs in Naviance were for you!
If you are choosing another option for post-high school such as military, work, Gap Year, etc. – please let your counselor know so we can also record and celebrate these accomplishments!
Information about how to update your admissions decisions is listed below:
1. Sign into Naviance.
If you know what college you will be attending, please update “College that I am attending” on the “Colleges I’m applying to” page.
If you chose not to apply to some of the schools on your list, please ask a counselor to delete those applications.
Finally, this year’s Letters of Recommendation were sent to over 1,000 schools on behalf of your senior class. Please remember to thank your teachers for writing your letters of recommendation.

Upcoming Scholarship Application Deadlines
SENIORS: Many scholarships have upcoming application deadlines- plan ahead! Be sure to check with the scholarship organization to determine your deadlines. Order your transcripts at least a week in advance and request letters of recommendation a month in advance. Remember, if you order paper transcripts you must pick them up and send them.
College Representative Visits
College reps from colleges all over the country (and beyond) come to the Monarch High School Post Grad Center to meet prospective students. Be sure to check out the upcoming college visits on Naviance. Students must sign up through Naviance in order to have their absence excused.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) went live on October 1st and seniors/parents NEED to submit it as soon as possible for consideration for many financial aid opportunities as well as many scholarships.
REMEMBER: You must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you want to apply for federal and state financial aid for college. Many colleges and universities, especially public institutions, also require the FAFSA.
Complete your FAFSA here. (This is the official FREE application through the government.)
