Three Monarch Students Attend Future Leader Programs

In June, Amanda Auday, Amaya Tierramar, and Dylan Sain represented Monarch High School and the State of Colorado in Boston, Massachusetts.  Amaya attended the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, Dylan attended the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders, and Amanda attended the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders.  These three talented students were surrounded by many fellow high school students who share their passion, ability, and potential.  During their three days in Boston, Amanda, Dylan and Amaya heard lectures from young geniuses who are leading the future of science, technology, and medicine and some of the greatest living minds in the field – winners of the world’s most prestigious international prizes such as:

  • David J Wineland, Ph.D. – Winner 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics and Recipient of the National Medal of Science
  • Sir Richard Roberts, Ph.D. – Winner 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
  • Sheldon Glashow, Ph.D. – Winner 1979 Nobel Prize in Physics
  • Mario Capecchi, Ph.D. – Winner 2007 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and Recipient of the National Medal of Science
  • Robert M. Metcalfe, Ph.D. – Inventor of the Ethernet, Founder of 3Com and Recipient of the National Medal Technology and Innovation
