From the PTSO President

Hello Monarch High School Families,

I hope you had a wonderful, restful break. Can you believe our students have completed one semester already? Time flies!

As we start the new semester please be aware of a few things that are on the PTSO’s calendar:

Mark your calendars and invite your neighbors.

Thursday, January 28 at 6 p.m. in the MHS Library: Please join the MHS PTSO and guest speaker State Representative Mike Foote for a discussion about the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR), the state budget, and how these issues are impacting education in Colorado. Following the talk, there will be a question and answer session. It is rare to get a member of the legislature to come and speak and do a Q&A, so please consider attending and bringing people with you. This is not solely a MHS event. We are inviting parents and students from all the local schools.

Friday, January 8 at 11:30 a.m. in the main office conference room: Prom and After Prom. Come learn about why we make such a big deal about the After Prom event and why it’s important for your kids to attend.

Friday, March 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the main office conference room: Student standardized testing. Spring is the time of year that student testing usually takes place and is a hot topic. Come to hear the MHS administrators speak about the changes that are being implemented in regard to standardized testing for this year.
