Boys Soccer off to a Winning Start this Season

Join us in welcoming the new coaching staff of the Monarch boys’ soccer teams. Leading our talented boys are:

Varsity: Balen Arenas, JV: John Cole, C Team: Kevin Arnold.

The parents and players would also like to thank Principal Anderson, Athletic Director, Eric Gustafson, and former coach, Marcelo Balboa, for their assistance during the transition these past few weeks. All three teams practice five days a week after school throughout the season as times and fields permit.

Regardless of staffing changes, the teams stepped up and displayed great form with preseason matches at Smokey Hill and Lewis-Palmer last week. The varsity team won against Smokey Hill 2-0, with goals by Jacob Sehnert and Patrick Sternberg, while JV also had a clean sheet with a 4-0 win. Congratulations to Noah Hubbard on his hat trick in the opening game; also finding the back of the net were Will Barnocky and Wyatt Shirk.

The teams also traveled to Lewis-Palmer High School on Saturday the 26th where the varsity showed better form and won 4-0. Netting goals were Edward Alder, Jacob Sehnert, and Patrick Sternberg (2). Freshman, Carter Watson, stepped in as goalie to close out the match. Following suit, JV controlled the entire ninety minutes going so far as pulling players off the field, winning 9-0 with 2 hat tricks. Sully Adams, Oliver Bork, Noah Hubbard, Ryan Miller (3), and John Samuelson (3) all scored for the ‘Yotes.

The outlook for the Coyote boys soccer program looks great with immense talent, skill, and passion.
