Pica’s Mexican Taqueria Donates $150 to Monarch PTSO!

The Monarch High PTSO sends a big SHOUT OUT to Pica’s Louisville!  We raised $150 during our dedicated fundraising day on January 22nd. Thank you to all Monarch families, staff and community members who came down to Front Street and ordered all day, dine in and take out. You helped make a big difference. The awesome owners of Pica’s generously donated 20% of the sales whenever Monarch was mentioned.

Monarch PTSO is proud to raise approximately $15,000 per school year, which go back into the classrooms through our mini-grant program for teachers. Donations via check or PayPal are welcome all year by visiting the PTSO website here and clicking on the yellow Paypal button on the right side.

If you would like to get involved with the PTSO as a donor, volunteer or to learn more about the mini-grant program, please contact either one of us at the e-mail below.

Monarch Girls Golf Spring 2018 Season Begins Soon

Monarch Girls’ Golf for the Spring 2018 season begins with a team meeting on February 26th in Room C114 with tryouts beginning February 28th through March 7th, followed by practice from March 8th through May 16th.  We are looking for girls with some golf experience and/or new beginners in 9th and 10th grade.  We do not cut anyone, but tryouts are used to establish levels of play for teams.  Golf is a lifetime sport and we encourage the concept of team spirit first, honor and integrity found in the game of golf, as well as the natural competitiveness our players all strive to achieve.  All girls must have completed the district registration, paid the district fee, and have a current physical turned into the Athletic Office prior to tryouts.  Registration starts the 29th of January.

This is year twenty of the Monarch Girls’ program for Coach Riley, along with Coach Findley (7th year) and new coach, Elizabeth Wilson, who all look forward to meeting and working with the girls this season. Coal Creek is our home course for all practices.

Any questions or concerns, please contact Coach Riley at michael.riley@bvsd.org.  Come join us! Anyone interested who cannot make the first meeting should contact Coach Riley by email.
